A small but meaningful story about the custom steel bench installed in the Shankill Graveyard written by Alfie, the guy who made this happen not only for his family, but others who have experienced the same tragedy.

On the14 Nov 2018 we lost our baby boy, Will Alfred McCrory. Six days after attending the baby loss remembrance service at Roselawn we visited the baby garden of remembrance. There was nothing for it, only a sign like you would see on a motorway showing were the garden was. After that experience me and my wife Danielle thought it would be nice to have something local . I approached Belfast City Council about installing a memorial bench in the Shankill graveyard so local families could sit and remember their little ones who passed away. Once permission was granted I approached BMD and the rest was history. They took care of everything and designed a beautiful custom steel memorial bench which now sits in the Shankill graveyard. I can’t thank them enough in the way they went about there work. very professional and very caring .
We would like to thanks to Steven McCosh who funded the money for the bench and Lord Mayor Frank McCouberry for dedicating the bench.
